Sayers Little Brother is a cozy café tucked away on Gladstone Street in Perth’s West End, offering a calm retreat from the busier parts of town. With its casual, unpretentious vibe, it feels like a spot where regulars might drop by to catch up over a carefully crafted coffee or grab a relaxed brunch with friends or family. The space has a characterful, slightly eclectic fit-out that contributes to a welcoming atmosphere without feeling overly polished or staged.

The café shines most in the morning to early afternoon hours, when the kitchen is bustling with dishes like fried green eggs, salmon scrambled eggs served with baked ricotta and dill oil on toasted ciabatta, and generous ham and cheese croissants. These hearty but thoughtfully plated meals match well with their coffee, which locals consistently praise for being on point. If you lean toward something sweeter, the carrot cake or apple crumble French toast make for satisfying options that aren’t too heavy but still hit that comfort-food spot.

Visitors often comment on the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff, who handle special requests and keep a steady flow of food and drinks coming without much fuss. The menu also reflects a mix of straightforward classics with a bit of a twist — a small indulgence like the toasted chocolate and banana bread feels at home alongside more savory offerings such as the salt beef reuben or sweet potato and chorizo salad.

The café’s quieter street setting means it’s a good place to escape the midday crowds typical of Perth’s central cafés. Locals nearby seem to appreciate it as a reliable spot for weekend brunch or a casual lunch that pairs well with laid-back conversations or solo work sessions. Whether you’re stopping in for a strong coffee or lingering over a meal, Sayers Little Brother offers a comfortable, unhurried experience grounded in quality food and a genuine small-business feel.

The apple crumble french toast is nice and tasty, if you are after something sweet. The corn and leek croquette was delicious, the seeded mustard cream was so tasty and flavourful, it really tied everything together. The potato rosti was also nice, the mustard dressing was a nice touch and added more flavour. Service is friendly and reasonably quick. We had ordered two dishes and one came out first and then maybe 5 or so minutes later the other one came out, would rather them both come out at the same time. Overall a really nice cafe to visit thats not in a busy spot.

I had the apple crumble French toast, which hit the spot perfectly, well presented, and fresh with a great combination of flavours, complimented with a great coffee. Well worth stopping by again.

Just had a late brunch. We live a 5 minute walk from here and it’s the first time I’ve been. Great service with a smile. Great coffee. Amazing food quality and selection.

Such beautifully plated and delicious food. Leek croquette was so yummy. Lady at the counter/owner was lovely and warm. Coffee was on point! Love everything about the place. Definitely heading back to try the rest of their menu!

Tucked away little gem on a quiet street, with an interesting menu, a non-perfect fitout with character (I’m not referring to the patrons, of which there were plenty!), and reasonable pricing. Service was excellent, with special requests like mugs (and I’m still not referring to patrons), split cakes to share, and extra hot coffee being quickly accommodated. My best bike mate and I will be returning. Recommended.

Great little spot in East Perth. There are 1P and 2P Parkings around. Very nice coffee, tasty food and super lovely staff! Not only brekky or lunch but also a place for great bubbles before you start your weekend

Having an affinity with Sayers cafes, I went to visit this out of town cafe and the cafe staff were friendly and helpful. I really liked the Reuben, but the cakes while attractive, (I had the cheesecake) was not as good as it looked. Perhaps it was the wrong cake I chose!

Great place for delicious breakfast and coffee in Highgate. Ample seating, many food choices, freshly baked bakery.
